Special Order Policy

At Adelaide Hills Cycles, we are committed to providing you with the best products, including those we specially order to meet your unique needs. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we have implemented the following policy for all special orders including bikes:

  1. Deposit Requirement: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value is required at the time of placing the special order. This secures the item and allows us to proceed with the order.
  2. Collection: Once your special order arrives in-store, you will be notified. The item must be collected within 30 days of this notification.
    • For Bicycles: If the order is a bike, we will contact you when it arrives and request the remaining payment prior to the assembly of your bike.
  3. Cancellation: Should you wish to cancel a special order, please note that a cancellation fee equal to the deposit paid will apply.
  4. Uncollected Items: If the item is not collected within 30 days

Layby Policy

  • A layby facility is available for bikes and accessories ‘in stock’ at Adelaide Hills Cycles.
  • All laybys must be paid in full and collected within 90 days .
  • A minimum transaction value of $200 and a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total order value is required at the time of establishing the layby.

Payments Policy

At Adelaide Hills Cycles, we offer a range of payment options:

  • Cash
  • Bank transfer (all payments must be confirmed in account by store manager prior to release of goods/return of workshop jobs)
  • Credit/debit card/EFTPOS: We accept most major cards.

Adelaide Hills Cycles Returns Policy

At Adelaide Hills Cycles , we are committed to ensuring our customers are satisfied with their purchases. In addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which entitles you to a remedy in the case of faulty or misrepresented products, we also offer the following returns policy:

  1. Australian Consumer Law
    Under the ACL, you are entitled to a replacement, refund, or repair if a product is faulty, unsafe, significantly different from the description, or does not perform as expected. Proof of purchase is required for all claims under ACL.
  2. Change of Mind ‐ Exchange or Store Credi
    We understand that sometimes you may change your mind. For unused items in their original condition and packaging, we offer an exchange or store credit (in the form of a gift card) within 14 days from the date of purchase. The item must be unused, unassembled, and returned with all original packaging, tags, and proof of purchase.
  3. Exclusions
    • Special order items are not eligible for return or exchange, as outlined in our Special Order Policy.
    • Items showing signs of use, assembly, or wear are not eligible for return.
    • Safety equipment such as helmets, shoes, and clothing cannot be returned due to health and safety regulations unless faulty

Workshop Policy

At Adelaide Hills Cycles, we are committed to providing top-quality service with clear guidelines. Please review our workshop policy:

  1. Job Completion: Job Completion: We aim to complete all workshop jobs within 2 business days , depending on parts availability.
  2. Quotes & Deposits:
    • A quote will be provided for all work.
    • For jobs over $400 (including parts and labour), a 50% deposit is required before we begin.
  3. Collection
    • Once your bike is ready, we'll notify you. Please collect it within 5 days of notification.
    • After 5 days, a $5 per day storage fee will apply.
  4. Refusal of Work
    • We reserve the right to refuse work on bikes we deem unsafe, including those with incorrect or incompatible components .
    • We do not work on homemade or converted electric bicycles , or electric/motorized bikes purchased from discount stores or online.
    • We cannot service unlocked or modified e-bikes that exceed legal speed or safety requirements.
  5. Accessories & Keys:
    • Please remove all removable accessories (e.g., drink bottles, lights, bags, computers) before bringing your bike in for service.
    • Any keys for locks or batteries must be provided when you drop off your bike.
